Join us at Governor Printz Park in Essington, to enjoy sunset and birds along the Delaware River. We’ll look for Osprey, Bald Eagles, herons, terns, gulls, swallows, and more. We’ll watch Purple Martins flying around their nesting cavities in old jetty pilings near the river’s edge.
While birding this Delco green space, we’ll be participating in the Philadelphia area City Nature Challenge. This worldwide community science initiative runs April 25-28, using iNaturalist to take a snapshot of nature everywhere! If you’d like to join the CNC fun, download iNaturalist onto your smart phone before you arrive, and submit photos on-site.
Meet at the water’s edge near the open ampitheater – the park is small, and the leader with binoculars will be easy to spot. All are welcome; you don’t have to be a member of BCDC. Leader: Debbie Beer (610-955-4098).
