Join the Birding Club of Delaware County (BCDC) at Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, where we will scan the beach, jetty, and ocean waves for a variety of coastal species, including: Harlequin Ducks, Long-tailed Ducks, Common Eiders, Brant, scoters, loons, sandpipers and much more!
Wear sturdy shoes and dress for cold, windy weather. Bring a snack and water for a long outing. We will walk on a sandy beach trail to reach the ocean’s edge. There is opportunity to walk on the rock jetty which is uneven and may be slippery. If you are not comfortable walking on the jetty, you can walk along the beach.
Meet in the parking lot at 9 am. Restrooms are available. All are welcome; you don’t have to be a member of BCDC. This is a great opportunity to see species that we don’t get to see in Delaware County. Leader: John Zygmunt (610-986-4667).
