Join us at Gillespie Park in Drexel Hill, where we’ll walk through the park amidst newly planted trees and in-progress pollinator beds and rain gardens, searching for warblers, woodpeckers, raptors and belted kingfishers, among others.
While birding this Delco green space, we’ll be participating in the Philadelphia area City Nature Challenge. This worldwide community science initiative runs April 25-28, using iNaturalist to take a snapshot of nature everywhere! If you’d like to join the CNC fun, download iNaturalist onto your smart phone before you arrive, and submit photos on-site.
Park in the parking lots on the north side of Sycamore Ave. All are welcome; you don’t have to be a member of BCDC. Leaders: Jamie Watts (215-539-7920) and Lynne Rabchuk.
