Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with a bird walk at Longview Park, held jointly by the Birding Club of Delaware County (BCDC) and Middletown Township EAC. All are welcome to join us to discover local and migratory species, be a community scientist for bird conservation, and share sightings on eBird to help researchers track populations and migration patterns.
Longview Park is a key component of Middletown Township’s open space program, providing important habitat and community space for the benefit of wildlife and people. We’ll walk the edges of woodlands and a small wetlands to look for woodpeckers, bluebirds, sparrows, raptors, and fall migrants.
The walk is about 1 mile on fairly even surfaces. Bring binoculars if you have them; a few will be available to borrow on-site. Meet on the east side of the lot; there is ample free parking. There are no restrooms.
All are welcome, members and non-members.
This event is free, but please pre-register here for the October 4 bird walk at this weblink: World Migratory Bird Day walk with BCDC and Middletown Township EAC
