 Rushton Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join BCDC at Rushton Farm in Chester County for a special eveni
 ng to see Northern Saw-whet Owls being banded. This outing is generously h
 osted by Willistown Conservation Trust (WCT)\, which preserves land from d
 evelopment and nurtures landscapes that support wildlife. WCT's Bird Conse
 rvation Program works to enhance and promote bird conservation\, with focu
 s on advancing avian research\, and through education\, fostering a love o
 f birds.\n\nBanding Saw-whet Owls provides valuable information about thes
 e diminutive nocturnal predators. During our evening experience\, voluntee
 rs will share information and show us up-close owls that have been caught 
 in specially designed nets. (All banding is conducted by federally license
 d banders operating under stringent guidelines. The safety and well-being 
 of birds is the utmost priority.)\n\nPre-registration is required\, as cap
 acity is limited for this field trip. RSVP to John Zygmunt at 610-986-4667
 . Registrants should arrive around dusk (approximately 7:15-7:30 pm) and m
 eet inside the barn. Dress for cold weather and bring a headlamp or flashl
 ight in case there is opportunity to walk woodland trails to see the bandi
